Maison Sainte-Victoire
Situated near Aix-en-Provence, Sainte-Victoire mountain is a delightful natural site. The house dedicated to it is the opportunity to discover the history of this immense chalky ridge. A true museum that allows young people, for example, to get to know more about the dinosaur site. There’s also the chance to go on educational walks, and hire bikes or … donkeys. For mountain rides with a difference!

The Parliament Museum of Provence and Vieil Aix
This museum hides a real treasure: a magnificent collection of puppets and decors of the old “talking crèche” of Aix-en-Provence. A unique chance for the whole family to discover the history for these very popular shows in Provence. The visit also makes it possible to see costumes, decorations, earthenware and other typically Provencal items.

Natural History Museum
Pre-history, mineralogy, botany… the perfect day out for getting to know everything about people, flora and fauna with the whole family. Created in 1838, this museum is of great wealth and its collections, in the image of dinosaur skeletons, are particularly well laid out to please the youngest members of the family. The Museum also possesses one of the most important collections of dinosaur eggs in the world. And don’t miss the very impressive room that displays the animals of the Amazon basin. Numerous workshops are organised for children.

Zoos, aquariums, parks and gardens
Barben Zoo
Both on foot and on the miniature railway, this zoo is the perfect place for admiring and understanding animals from all over the world! From zebras to hippopotamuses, from parrots to bison, from ostriches to ponies, everyone big and small can get to know more about every species and have fun at the same time. Play books, educational panels and meetings with zoo carers are offered to all the family. More than a mere zoo, this park is an amazing place where man and wildlife meet. Not to be missed!

Rambot Park
For a well earned break between two visits, Rambot Park is the ideal spot. Occupying more than 10,000 sq.m. in the heart of the town, it actually gives numerous rest areas and play areas for children. Toboggans, sand pits, paddling pools, swings etc. etc.. Nothing is left out when it comes to pleasing the kids, and it’s also the ideal opportunity to share a great family picnic.

Giant Maze Park
Will you know how to get out? Unique in Provence, this park is the chance for the whole family to take part in loads of outdoor games. Young and old find themselves diving into the middle of a maize field of more than 6 hectares where many giant mazes have been created, such as the jungle animals maze or the King Arthur maze, for example. Original attractions, but also pony rides, a real favourite with the children. Even at night!

The Robot Village
Welcome to a wonderful fairy village! In this park of 8 hectares, children can meet all the characters of their favourite fairy stories. Pinocchio meets them in the belly of a whale and then goes on to the farm animals that depict so well the different fables of La Fontaine. Aladdin, clowns and dinosaurs are just some of the 500 robots of this village with a difference. For those who like adventure and challenge, Accro Passion is not to be missed under any circumstance. Eight short courses in tree-climbing, two of which are specially dedicated to the family, are offered for beginners, fun and thrills. And don’t forget that the youngest among us are included with two children’s basketball and other ball game courses, one for children from 3 and a half years. Consisting of sweet almonds and sugar melons, calissons are a famous speciality of Aix-en-Provence. The Confiserie du Roy René even has its own museum where you can discover the whole history, not only of this confectioner’s but of nougat as well. Twice a week, the factory doors open to show all the manufacturing secrets of calissons. And the climax of the trip comes with traditional fare, for the great pleasure of the gourmets among us!
