Museums & Exhibitions

Museo Fallero
A unique museum that refers to a typical old tradition of Valencia: The Fallas! Every year, giant papier maché puppets, often satirical, are on show in the streets of Valencia. It’s the opportunity for a giant feast at the end of which all the Fallas are burned. All except for one … saved by the public. The museum exhibits the ‘graciées’ works and offers a video on the process of creation of a Falla as well as costumes, photographs etc.

Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe [Science Museum]
Touching, feeling, thinking … This museum, part of the complex of the City of Arts and Sciences, offers all the family so many entertaining, interactive, play and educational activities. The themes addressed are as varied as climate change, DNA or modern espionage techniques! Discoveries to be experienced as a family through workshops, exhibitions of photographs, sculptures, and multimedia presentations.

Hemisfèric
This architectural marvel was designed to house a planetarium and cinema in IMAX format. The planetarium is the opportunity for all the family to be transported through our galaxy thanks to the images projected onto a surface of 24 m in diameter. Films like ‘The Origins of Life’, ‘The Secrets of the Titanic’ or ‘The Mysteries of the Nile’ benefit fully from the extraordinary accuracy of the images and the size of the screen, and make Hemisfèric an unforgettable experience.

Zoos, aquariums, parks and gardens

Jardines del Turia
It’s very hard to get bored in the gardens of Turia. In fact the ancient bed of the dried up river today crosses the city centre of Valencia and offers numerous attractions that will delight the children, like the statue of Gulliver where the enormous character lies on his back tied down with ropes, and it’s an area for slides and toboggans… A miniature town, with giant chess games and skating ramps, the gardens del Turià are actually an immense play area!

Biopark Valencia
The Biopark is a new-generation Zoo that offers a concept of immersing its visitors into the natural animals’ habitat. Here the barriers are invisible and all the family can discover the ecosystems that accompany elephants, giraffes, tigers, monkeys or hippopotamuses. The Oceanográfic
The basin of the Delphinarium is the one of the biggest in the world and offers staggering choreographies made of these animals almost 4 metres long. The children will be particularly impressed by the 30-metre long transparent tunnel that makes it possible to observe the sharks so close by! The whole family can also discover the marvellous and colourful world of the tropical fish, tortoises or penguins.

The Botanical Garden of the University of Valencia
The Botanical Garden allows all the family to learn about Mediterranean vegetation, with the evolutions and adaptations that plants sometimes undergo. With its shaded, aquatic, rocky or wooded areas, the garden is the opportunity for children and parents alike to make an educational discovery of the importance of the vegetable world for our planet.

Park of Benicalap
Situated to close to the ‘Ciudad Fallera ‘ where the Fallas are manufactured, Benicalap Park is an ancient orange orchard. A few specimens have been kept and the park is today a place for relaxation to be appreciated by all the family. The children will love the play areas like Tarzan’s hut, sports grounds, and the open air swimming pool that’s open only in summer.

Malvarrosa Beach
