Museums & Exhibitions
Saint Catherine Monastery
On the tracks of Moses…the Mount Moses and Mount Sinai region that houses the Saint Catherine Monastery is considered to be the place of major events described in the Bible. The entire monastery cannot be visited, but it is possible to view the replica of the “burning bush” or the numerous paintings depicting the history of the Christian religion. Close by, the Information Centre informs visitors about the environment of this mountainous region as well as Bedouin culture.

Blue Desert
An open-air exhibition! In 1980, the Belgian artist Jean Verame, with the permission of the authorities and 10 tonnes of paintings provided by the United Nations, painted a line of huge blue granite blocks in the Sinai desert to symbolise peace. The visit is also worth the detour for the show about the surrounding nature: the golden desert, the pink flowers, the sky and the blue rocks…a complete change of scenery!

Old Market
Contrary to its name, the Souk is not as old as all that; it is even quite recent. It is a place where the whole family can stroll from stall to stall looking for a present or unique souvenir to take home. The Old Market is also a great concentration of the local culture and craftsmanship where leather goods, spices, and silver jewellery are exhibited and the art of negotiation can be learnt in 5 minutes!

Zoos, aquariums, parks and gardens
Ras Mohammed Natural Park
The Park has a marine zone and an earth zone. The family can learn more about the animals that populate this protected place thanks to videos, touch screens, books and the advice of staff in the visitor centre. The park is above all known for its seabeds. With snorkels and flippers, children will be particularly attracted to the “clown fish” (Nemo heros) and their inseparable anemones while parents can visit the turtles and other tropical fish with bright colours.

The seabeds
In Sharm El Sheikh there is no need to visit an aquarium — the richness and beauty of the reefs is the primary asset of the city. With snorkels and flippers, children can dive safely in Shark’s Bay or near the beaches of Kashaba and Bereika. With oxygen tanks, the more experienced can observe the magnificent seabeds such as “The Temple”, “Ras Oum Sid”, “The Tower” or “Amphore”. Finally, for those who don’t want to get wet, a boat trip in a glass-bottom boat is still an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

Kids’voyage’s special treats
Naama Bay and Shark’s Bay Beaches
The ambience of Naama Bay is typical of a seaside resort with its beach and nautical activities such as windsurfing and pedalos. Its street with multiple stalls is a chance for the whole family to have something to eat and relax in the sun for a few minutes before witnessing a magnificent sunset on the pedestrian walkway along the beach that is several kilometres long. Shark’s Bay is a bit further away and has a less scenic beach but will please young divers looking for treasure and multicoloured fish.
Shark’s Bay is 20 m from Sharm El Sheikh. The Naama Bay district is halfway.
Every day.
The desert and its walks
Camels have always had a significant role in the life of nomadic Bedouins who live in the Sinai and the race that they organise annually is a real party. As well as this event, a Meharee camel or horse walk in the desert is an original activity to do as a family that will leave you with lasting memories. It is also a chance to explore the culture and way of life of Bedouins in a magnificent natural environment.
