It was in 1896 that Athens organised the first Olympic Games of the modern age. The event came back to Athens 108 years later, in 2004.

The Acropolis and the Parthenon
Possibly the most famous entry on the UNESCO world heritage list, it would be a pity to miss this! It’s a pleasant walk up to the Acropolis which stands above the city of Athens and features the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Theatre of Dionysus: a real journey through history! With its huge columns, the Parthenon is one of the most famous monuments in the world – the perfect backdrop for any family photo!

The Children’s Museum
Located in an old house in Plaka, this museum is aimed at children up to 12 years of age. It offers new experiences in an environment designed for children. Both educational and entertaining, it will provoke investigation, imagination and experimentation in all children! They’ll dress up in clothing from various periods of history, and there’s also a model of an underground station under construction where children can put on a hard hat and explore the tunnel. Afterwards they can burn off energy in the playground or spend a quiet moment in the library.

Attica Zoological Park
Attica zoological park houses many different species including astonishing animals such as the snow leopard and the white lion.
